Growing Faith

Great faith is not something that can be obtained overnight, it has to be developed. One of the keys to growing our faith is by seeing God’s presence in every situation.

Anyone can see God’s presence when a family member gets healed or a dream we have had for years comes to pass, but how many people can see God through difficult situations when things seem to be spinning out of control? How many can have the faith enough to be like Job, who through the hardships he endured was able to say, “though God slays me, I will trust Him” (Job 13:15). Few people have a faith like that. It is a level we all would like to reach.

If we ever want to have that level of faith, we have to start small. We have to start recognizing God’s move every single day in every situation we are in. The more we do that, the more we realize that He is active in our lives and He is working things out for our best. Once we know that, we begin getting a confidence that no matter what we go through, God will always be there with exactly what we need. That’s when our faith climbs to another level.

Remember though, this process starts small. The best way I have found to recognize God’s moving in all areas is to take some time at the end of each day and write out where you have seen God move during that day. If you are like me, your list will be short at first but the more you do it, the more you will realize that God is working in every situation you face. Knowing that the God who created the universe is actively involved in every aspect of your life is enough to boost anyone’s faith.
